So another has passed and we are now a week into 2013, and already I am seeing people on the usual social media sites complaining about 2013. Don’t get me wrong I was pleased to see the back of 2010 partly due to the fact I was fighting dengue fever, but because I had a cracking round of bad luck….
2012 for me has been a lot different I have been flat out busy working on new projects and growing existing projects. Google has kicked and punched our sites around and then after they did that again but with a panda this time or was it a penguin?
Well, for 2012 has had its ups and its downs, I have had to work smarter, and I have had to think outside the box my affiliate sites are growing and are being targeted a lot better along with finding new traffic sources to release the pressure from trying to rely on the search engines for all of our traffic.
I lost an extremely close friend of mine Vanessa Reece, and that was pretty hard for me to cope with, she left a massive hole in my day to day life as we use to work together on projects and what not so it does feel very strange not chatting to her.
I also decided to start training for a 1500-mile cycle ride raising money for a UK based charity called Help For Heroes. Myself and my good lady Jane battled the elements cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End. We cycled for 24 days through some of the challenging weather conditions up some of the most stunning countryside.
The cycle trip, was tough and not only the pure physical side, but mentally we had to battle on when we just wanted to give up. We had to keep pedalling up steep hills that would never end we had to cycle for days in the pouring rain and get so cold that we couldn’t feel our hands feet and faces.
At the end of the cycle ride it was tough but was a satisfying feeling, few people can say they have done the challenge, and few people can say that they did it unassisted. Myself and Jane raised a total of £2020.38 for Help For Heroes.
The cycle trip proved to us that anything was possible as long as you put your mind to it, and if you want something bad enough you can get it. We had a lot of support, and I would like to thank everybody that was there for us on the days that we were down and feeling the pain.
2012 was also the year that myself and Jane got engaged. I managed to put it off for 10 years, but I decided that the time was right and hopefully in 2014, we will be getting married on a beach in Malaysia.
So it was coming to the end of the year, and it was time to start looking at my accounts and to see what is what I soon realised that although the UK is deep in recession. However, my hard work and perseverance had paid off, and we have already beaten 2011 profits, and we still have four months left of the tax year so if all goes well, and I keep pushing on with the affiliate sites. I should be hitting some pretty big milestones if everything goes to plan.
So what is going to change in 2013?
Well, affiliate marketing for me is what makes me the money, and I will continue to promote products to people ranging from car tyres to washing machines as this is what I enjoy doing.
I am planning on actually working a few more hours a day now as I want to get this year’s goal, and so I will do whatever it takes to get. Lots of people have doubted my abilities in the past, but I have never failed at anything, so I am confident that I will get what I want.
I don’t post articles to gloat or boast I simply post these articles to inspire those who are struggling or are doubting whether or not they can make money with affiliate marketing, and I am living walking proof that you can make that money.
If you have any questions, then please message me, I am normally fairly quick to respond so you shouldn’t have to wait too long.
Happy New Year
